Uncanny X-Force #2 (preview)
Writer: Rick Remender
Artist: Jerome Opeña

From Marvel: “Wolverine promised Cyclops that X-Force would disband — he lied. A secret society has resurrected En Sabah Nur, putting into motion events that will turn this age of heroes into an Age of Apocalypse! To hold them back, Wolverine and Archangel bring together Fantomex, Deadpool, and Psylocke to form The Uncanny X-Force! Stained by their history, they are the only ones capable of making the hard resolutions necessary. A band of likeminded friends and mercenaries set to one purpose, one big ugly task — kill Apocalypse by any means.”

On sale October 6, 2010.

Exquisite artwork by Jerome Opeña, some terrific Wolverine moments (especially at the Tower of London) and an intriguing storyline.

All in all, an auspicious start to Rick Remender’s run and a very solid week for Wolverine…

I don’t know yet what to think about this series. I have no complaints about the art. The idea of having a group to stop Apocalypse is an excellent idea. My problem is with the team itself. With the previous incarnation there was an obvious tie amongst the team members. With this one they’re pretty much going with the route of individuals who have been manipulated by others. i don’t like to think of their one similarity as having been all manipulated by evil people. i like to think of it as wolverine and angel forming a team of people who know what needs to be done, and that is that they will do things that thr x-men won’t do..but i really hoped that domino would still be a part of the team.

i didn’t have high hopes for this one but it turned out great. it was way better than what i expected.

I’m mixed on this just because Deadpool honestly…I avoid everything that involves him because he’s so ridiculously annoying that it pulls me from any story he’s in. Hell, I think the last time I enjoyed him was in Wolverine #88 and some Joe Kelly stories On the story, yes this team is ridiculous, Deadpool and Fantomex fit the same bill and yes, they are building this team on the foundation that they’ve all been tampered with, since that was all the writer can come up with, since the team was built before he even signed on. I get the feeling… Read more »
