Mini-reviews of new Wolverine appearances in comic stores on 10/31/07:
-X-Men: Messiah Complex (Preview): Silvestri’s art has a bizarre time-traveling effect that hearkens back to the painful days of ‘Fall of the Mutants’ some 20 years ago. As a result the intended grimness of this story is undermined by stiletto heels, impeccable makeup, perfectly-styled hair and overly suggestive poses.
-Ultimate Power #8 (Preview): This would have been much better if it hadn’t taken 13 months for 8 issues to come out. And there’s still another one the way before this thing wraps up. It seems as if Marvel has forgotten what ‘miniseries’ means.
Mini-reviews of all Wolverine appearances in stores on 10/24/07.
-Uncanny X-Men #204 (Preview): Messiah Complex prelude. Wolverine cameos.
-Black Panther #31 (Preview): Where are the damn zombies? What a rip! Dream-version of Wolverine makes a cameo.
-Marvel Spotlight: Marvel Zombies (Cover): ‘Secret Wars’ Zombie cover with Wolverine.
Mini-reviews of new Wolverine appearances in comic stores on 10/17/07:
-Wolverine: Origins #18 (Preview): I’m really not enjoying this whole everything-in-Logan’s-life-was-orchestrated-by-Romulus-for-no-good-reason-other-
than-we-need-a-new-uber-Wolverine-villain plot line. Other than that…
-Marvel Zombies 2 #1 (Preview): More fun with Zombie-Wolverine.
-Ultimate X-Men #87 (Zombie-Wolverine Variant Cover): As much as I like Kirkman on Marvel Zombies, I’m am so bored by his run on Ultimate X-Men. It reads like just another X-Men title. I mean, what’s the point?
-Marvel Adventures The Avengers #17 (Cover): I don’t know who this series is written for. Not me, certainly.
Mini-reviews of new Wolverine appearances in comic stores on 10/10/07:
-Wolverine #58 (Preview): More on Lazaer. Intriguing concept. I just wish Marc Guggenheim had realized that the Nazis weren’t around during World War I.
-New Avengers/Transformers #4 (Preview): Series finale. Pretty disappointing as a whole.
-New Avengers #35 (Preview): Cover appearance only. What a rip!

-Wolverine Annual: Deathsong (Preview): Interesting off-beat story by Gregg Hurwitz with beautiful art by Marcelo Frusin.
