I'm mixed on this just because Deadpool honestly...I avoid everything that involves him because he's so ridiculously annoying that it pulls me from any story he's in. Hell, I think the last time I enjoyed him was in Wolverine #88 and some Joe Kelly stories

On the story, yes this team is ridiculous, Deadpool and Fantomex fit the same bill and yes, they are building this team on the foundation that they've all been tampered with, since that was all the writer can come up with, since the team was built before he even signed on. I get the feeling based on interviews that this isn't the ideal team for him.

I give all X-titles that I have interest in the initial arc to hook me, but the story, team and general direction of the X-franchise just makes me think this story won't do enough for me. This team desperately needed Domino, for the Wolverine angle and better character moments she can have.

Kidpocalypse however, to throw praise looks creepily awesome

i don't like to think of their one similarity as having been all manipulated by evil people. i like to think of it as wolverine and angel forming a team of people who know what needs to be done, and that is that they will do things that thr x-men won't do..but i really hoped that domino would still be a part of the team.

i didn't have high hopes for this one but it turned out great. it was way better than what i expected.

I don't know yet what to think about this series. I have no complaints about the art. The idea of having a group to stop Apocalypse is an excellent idea. My problem is with the team itself. With the previous incarnation there was an obvious tie amongst the team members. With this one they're pretty much going with the route of individuals who have been manipulated by others. That doesn't sound like a good base to create a cohesive team. Especially with who is on the team.

Wolverine and Angel being on the team are obvious choices for such a squad. Psylocke doesn't seem to fit for me. Deadpool was included because he's everywhere. Fantomex is far too much of a loner to be a part of the team. And if there is one character I would love to see have a series of their own it's him. Find a writer who can do high concept adventures (Warren Ellis, Grant Morrison) and it would be a smash hit.
