The only negative I have about Aaron is all the guest stars. I enjoy Aaron's book more than most...I'm a devoted buyer and if you've read my comments from months past...I love pretty much every issue.

I liked this story arc...but it wasn't a Wolverine tale. It was an Avengers tale with Wolverine getting more screen time. I just think Aaron adds too many guest stars for my tastes. An issue here or there is one thing, but the last 7 months were with guest stars. Psylocke, Nightcrawler (who can be in every issue honestly...but he's dead now), Rogue, Emma, Yukio, Storm, Jubilee (not enough though), and all the Avengers...and I don't think this site has been critical of Jason Aaron at all...everyone is on board...

Also...Mr. Fixit showed up for two issues and they were fun times...but it was part of an ongoing Madripoor saga and in the over-arching plot. Also in the Enemy of the State storyline began at issue #20 of this second volume. The first 19 only featured Nightcrawler, just once. It was all about Wolverine.

Anyways, like I said...I enjoy team ups and guest stars...but ultimately...I get tired when its every month. This was an Avengers story about Deathlok that didn't belong in Wolverine proper...it seemed out of left field and honestly had me puzzled about the point. It would have worked in the Avengers title or as a mini series bringing Deathlok back. Either way, if Aaron taps into this story in the future which I'm sure he will...then who knows. His stories do seem to have an over arching development...just this one had me a bit puzzled.

No need to be all defensive

I have to disagree with Jesse on this note. As a collector of both the second and first ongoing, there really hasn't been a series that focused on Wolverine the entire time. Even in the first ongoing eventually "Mr Fixit" aka Grey Hulk showed up before the issue numbers reached "10". Then on his second ongoing the same thing happened with the whole Enemy of the State series.

Just figured this site needed someone to stand up for Jason Aaron. He might not be the world's greatest author. But as a fan who has read over 300 Wolverine comic books, to me he feels like the first writer to have a grasp on how a Wolverine book should be written. I don't feel anyone else has had a better take on Wolverine thus far.

Perhaps this final story arc wasn't the Oscar nominating / award winning master piece some people might expect with every issue that is released. However I feel that the whole series deserved a lot more credit then it's getting with the above comments. Jason Aaron first two story arcs were pretty darn good, a lot better then most of the crap we got in the previous ongoing series.

The worst that comes to mind is the "Death of Wolverine" story arc that was featured in issues #56-61 of the second ongoing. That's just my opinion and I'm entitled to it just like anyone else in this little online community. Ta ta.

This definintely wasn't a Wolverine story and fit the bill of a New Avengers or Avengers story. Looking at that from that perspective, this story worked very well, however the problem was that its a Wolverine comic and he was merely a foot note. Part of me feels that this story changed on its heels...the tone in the first issue is vastly different than this issue.

Does anyone else other than me see an issue with the amount of guest stars that Aaron likes? I like guest stars as much as anyone, but not on a frequent basis. I hope Aaron reads this and chills on all the guest stars...the Wolverine in Hell schitck looks to continue the trend...and its getting tiresome. I <3 Wolverine's solo book because it's a solo.

meh indeed. Blandest Weapon X story yet. Well, maybe not blandest, but definitely the worst so far when it came to execution. It's been an interesting series so far and usually Aaron pulls off his ideas awesomely, but yeah I definitely stopped caring about this story about 2 issues in..

If this had been the five-part Deathlok saga instead of that ridiculous miniseries from earlier in the year, I probably would have been pleased. But this is supposed to be a Wolverine comic. His name is in the title. So my reaction is more of a 'meh' than anything else.
