The new character designs were provided by Tom and were requested to be done.

Deadlines ARE tight. Do some of you work jobs that require you to be up for three days with no sleep and by the the end of it all….you get this?

pretty much my feeling. Decent issue with some good scenes and bad ones too. The art needs work as do some of the characterizations. But the story is interesting and glad the Sentinels are back. Now if we could get rid of Fury…

For the life of me, throughout all of the preview covers and whatnot I thought that that was Pete Wisdom and now Gambit.

I knew it was Kitty right away because all of the covers where she was shown wearing that jacket. Though in those covers she had brown hair. Which I miss, because I thought their design for Kitty on said covers was absolutely fantastic.

This issue was odd because while reading it I felt as if things were going very, very slowly “Ugh”, I thought. “From extreme story compression to complete decompression”. However it turns out i was wrong, only 7 or 8 pages had gone by. So it was actually just clever pacing, I suppose.

I have no real problems with this issue outside of the artwork, and the occasional odd character moment (beast seems particularly snappy with Scott for no apparent reason). Not quite as strong as the previous issues, but not bad either.

Which is odd since they are only doing 4 or so issues for each artist and I expect at least 4 or so issues were done ahead of time and banked.

Gotta agree with you on the artwork.

Kitty and Gambit are unrecognizable, and Jean and Rogue aren’t that far behind with rather bizarre looks.

Perhaps the bi-monthly schedule is taking a toll on the artists already.
