I'm interested in the whole phoenix returning thing. I have a little theory about that; since Clarmont always considered Jean to be the phoenix, and since the separate entity retcon was forced upon him, (which really pissed him off, just read his intro to the Storm in Africa story from the visionaries tpb,) he's going to wipe it away.

He'll probably "reveal" that Jean/Phoenix, puled her self to gether after the blaster hit her, and put herself into the cocoon to heal, and the whole flashback to the shuttle flight in FF# 286 was a ruse by the dark phoenix aspect of her personality to convince every one that the phoenix was a separate, and now dead entity. Essentially, jean will have a split personality thing.

on a separate note, i would like to know what happened to Colossus, Psyloke, and the other characters who were in those 1st three issues.

While the evidence and interviews so far do not look good for resurrection, I know Claremont's original plans for the series included Wolverine's death and his return as a villain. Including his getting Jean for a while.

It seems odd that he would so heavily emphasize the potential love between Logan and Jean if he was going to permanently kill Logan at the end of the issue. Claremont likes to build story lines so here is hoping we see the little hairball again.
