It’s funny we’re talking about Logan not being “human”, yet the characters portrayed in Old Man Logan have a lot of human emotion behind them. Comusiv hit the nail on the head with the opinion I’m trying to express.

Also, do not discount Mysterio so quickly. We do not know who is behind the mask and it seems he had help because he was able to fake smell as well as sight and sound. I know he is a second stringer, but I like it when they sometimes rise out of the ranks to greater things.

No, Roleplay, I meant to say that fans are smart people and thus, deserve better than the old “oh no, I killed them all” kind of scenario. I also tried to highlight that most companies think that adding violence to everything makes that thing sell better and this is what insults most people`s intellect. I don`t mind a bit of rampaging about as long as it`s backed up by a clever and complex plot, but in most cases is just gratuitous.

A character with such as Wolverine, with such an intricate history behind him really needs superior plots (like in the old days, indeed). They`ve just turned him into Sabertooth now, a mindless killing machine, when in fact he`s profoundly human and very witty. I want more stories that outline that.

I have to agree with the idea that people over analyze the stories too much. I mean it was done with this story alone with the idea that Mysterio was able to fool Wolverine while others like Mesmero have failed in their attempts to control him mentally. I mean I even attempted to rationalize how Mysterio succeeded after you guys questioned it.

And as for Wolverine becoming the hack and slash no brains drama, isn’t that sort of the point of Mark Millar’s current run? To pull back from that sort of thing so that we see the character instead of the violence? We already saw Millar do the violence with Wolverine in his first run. And no sooner did Wolverine say he’ll never pop his claws again in this run than we all wanted to see it happen. And every issue that goes by we’re just patiently waiting for that moment to arrive as we’re seeing the story unfold and the character fleshed out.

I personally disliked the Patch and Madripoor story line. I also disagree with Aelflar.

I’m highly intelligent and I enjoy the comics enough to buy them every week. And since they are selling well, I assume it’s not just the ones with low intellect buying them. (Unless you assume most of the world has no intellect.) I personally don’t think this character is ruining Marvel, most of my friends enjoy the stories for what it’s worth. Personally I think some people over analyze things too much, which is why they ruin a decent story for themselves.

I agree with Aelflar in how a lot of his development has flatlined and been replaced by mindless violence. Do I sound too old if I say I miss the good ol’ days of Patch and Madripoor?

Still, I thought this was a better issue than we’ve seen in a while.

This was pretty good. The Mysterio thing really caught me by surprise. I was not sure what the surprise would be, but this was definitely not one of my guesses. I liked it a lot and I think it gave a pretty good reason why Logan would be so distressed. The X-Men have been his closest friends and he killed them all. I do not think the story is perfect, but its fun and pretty solid through out.
