I think it’s unfair to say “pacifist ” Wolverine is out of character. He is shown in the beginning of the story as a “defeated” and “tortured” Wolverine. Their might be a good reason he has given up. And I like to see a new side to Logans character. It gets boring when we see him as this “indestructible” bad ass. And the ending did leave me wanting more and I know I’m not the only one who felt this way. The Hulk’s descendants were hilarious and interesting. Also I like the idea of Logan traveling with a blind Hawk Eye. It was not a bad opening at all………

Interesting… hadn’t thought of ‘Unforgiven.”

In Wizard #202, Mark Millar makes a ballsy pronouncement, “Our plan was to make this Wolverine’s ‘Dark Knight Returns.'”

Now granted Book One of ‘Dark Knight Returns’ was 48 pages, but at least the reader was grabbed by the throat with the first issue. With ‘Old Man Logan.’ I was left shrugging my shoulders.

I think the pacfist stuff will go away after a couple of issues. He is definately channelling “Unforgiven” here. I liked the new map of the USA and hope we get a bit of story about it.
I agree its too early to tell, but I have high hopes and I like Steve McNiven.
